— Adysen Moylan —
Adysen is a graduate student at George Mason University’s Jimmy and Rosalynn Carter School for Peace and Conflict Resolution, concentrating on the dynamics of violence and its intersections with gender. Her semester living in the West Bank in 2019, where she studied the Israeli-Palestinian conflict, prompted her interest in understanding conflict in its full complexity and in supporting locally led, sustainable approaches to peace and reconciliation in deeply divided societies. She holds a B.A. in Global Studies with a concentration in Middle Eastern Studies and Arabic. She has volunteered with refugee communities in the United States and Amman, Jordan. Based in Washington, D.C., Adysen has contributed to the Alliance for Middle East Peace, the International Center for Religion and Diplomacy, and the Institute of World Affairs, where she was a researcher with the Women, Peace, and Security Program and a member of the U.S. Institute of Peace’s Working Group on Women, Peace, and Security. She is also a facilitator with AMIDEAST, facilitating cohorts of Yemeni and American undergraduate students in cross-cultural dialogue, fostering mutual understanding and relationships across divides.
