Sophie is entering her final year at McGill University in Montreal, Canada where she is pursuing a BA in Political Science and History with a minor in Environment. Her primary academic interests include contemporary European political history, post-socialist development, international law, and global environmental politics. When she isn’t in the classroom, she is writing for the McGill Energy Journal and exploring the intersection between international relations and the green energy transition. Sophie’s academic focus in Eastern Europe and post-Soviet studies has also led her to expand her interest into the history of the Balkans and its persisting ethno-political tensions, which she is excited to further explore during her time with PCRC. After she receives her bachelors degree, she intends to pursue further education in international relations and law.
