Call for Applications: Youth Reporting Fellowship

The Post-Conflict Research Center (PCRC) invites young people from across Bosnia and Herzegovina to apply for the Youth Reporting Fellowship on Memory and Denial in BiH, implemented within the Generation Memory project.

The Generation Memory project aims to develop inclusive, community-based, and action-oriented peacebuilding and memorialization practices that foster interethnic understanding, empathy, and critical reflection. This project is funded by UK International Development and implemented in partnership with the British Council.

About the Fellowship

Selected youth correspondents will take part in a three-month structured fellowship focused on producing original journalistic articles addressing memorialization, denial, and inclusive remembrance in Bosnia and Herzegovina and the wider Western Balkans.

Fellows will:

  • Receive training, mentorship and editorial guidance from Balkan Diskurs editors throughout the process of topic development, interviewing, writing, and editing
  • Produce one investigative article for publication on balkandiskurs.com
  • Have their work published in Bosnian/Croatian/Serbian and English, professionally edited, translated, visually designed, and promoted across PCRC and partner media platforms
  • Have to chance to continue writing for Balkan Diskurs as regular authors.

Each fellow will receive an honorarium upon successful completion and publication of their article.

Who Can Apply

We are looking for 15 motivated young people who:

  • Are 18–30 years old
  • Live in Bosnia and Herzegovina
  • Are interested in journalism, storytelling, memory, human rights, or peacebuilding
  • Are committed to participating throughout the full fellowship period (March – May 2026), including online sessions and one fully funded in person training (April 2026).

Previous writing or media experience is welcome but not required.
