Gian is a Master’s student currently studying to complete a dual MA / MSc between Columbia University and the London School of Economics with the European Institute at both universities. His curiosity in the region and its history began during his undergraduate studies, which has provided a background to explore the role of grassroots community building and its intersection with public policy in peacebuilding. He is interested in exploring the role and legacy of international law, the Dayton Accords, as well as how accession to the European Union can offer unique possibilities and opportunities in the transitional justice process.
