Nejra Čehajić is a trained Balkan Diskurs correspondent from Bugojno. She holds a MA in the Literatures of the peoples of Bosnia and Herzegovina, and the Bosnian, Croatian and Serbian languages, University of Sarajevo. She is an active volunteer at the Bugojno Youth Center. She likes photography and writing and considers media to be the strongest means of communication between people.

A Young Refugee’s Courage

At the age of 11, Mersiha Čusto (fromerly Mersiha Begović) saved a child from Bosnia and Herzegovina while they were ice skating on a partially frozen pond at a military barracks in the Czech town of Nyrsko. They were staying at the barracks as refugees during the war in Bosnia and Herzegovina.
