Salla is a graduate student of Peace, Mediation & Conflict Research at the University of Tampere. Having lived, worked, and studied in multicultural environments, she has developed a deep interest in inclusive peacebuilding and local ownership as well as the region of SE Europe. As a part of her NGO activities, Salla has focused on issues related to youth rights and UN Security Council resolution 2250 (Youth, Peace & Security). She holds a firm belief that young people should be recognized as rights-holders and equal partners of peace instead of as passive beneficiaries of policies or programs. In the context of BiH, Salla is keen to work with and research approaches to countering and preventing the spread of violent extremism among youth.
