Marijana is a Balkan Diskurs correspondent from Banja Luka. She graduated in political science from the Faculty of Political Sciences at the University of Banja Luka. She works as a project manager and journalist in the Citizens’ Association Micro Network (Portal Mikro Mreža). She is also employed at the PRONI Center for Youth Development as a youth worker, where she is involved in project proposals, graphic design, youth engagement, and photography.
Love that Unites and Calms the Soul
Although they come from different cities, four young writers share a great love for the written word. By their example, they show that literature in Bosnia and Herzegovina is not dying out.

Why does gender-based violence go underreported?
Gender-based violence, to which girls and women are the most vulnerable in Bosnia and Herzegovina, is often not reported to the competent authorities, and if it is reported and charges are filed, the sentences are either short or suspended.

Anything is possible with the right support
The Down Syndrome Center from Banja Luka is the only social welfare institution in Bosnia and Herzegovina building capacity for people with Down Syndrome through its social rehabilitation program.
