Target Shooting Club: Accuracy and Aim as a Lifestyle

Ten years ago, Target Shooting Club was founded in the city of Travnik, connecting young people and breaking down socially imposed barriers.

As its name suggests, the club embodies a passion for exceptional marksmanship, and its members, with their extraordinary precision, are distinguishing themselves in the world of competitive shooting.

Target was conceived as a way of popularizing competetive shooting, especially among young people. In addition to developing and expanding this sport to win competitions, the club aims to promote sportsmanship, social activism, and responsibility, as well as foster  respect for ethnic, religious, and gender differences in the Travnik area.

By refreshing the shooting scene in Bosnia and Herzegovina, Target has attracted marksmanship enthusiasts and inspired generations of new shooters. Sara Ramić, who has been a member of the club for more than five years, says that it encourages marksmen and shows them that it is okay to make mistakes or have a bad day, even when it impacts performance, especially because calmness and concentration are very important aspects of training.

“No matter what, we want to give them our trust, but also to be friends to whom they can always turn, in addition to being coaches,” said Ramić.

Because participants are entrusted with weapons early on, the club introduces safety training before shooting instruction on the proper stance, aim, and firing techniques for firearms and air rifles.

“Our club has been more intensively oriented toward the air rifle program since the very beginning, but even so, it’s important to inform members how dangerous it can be to point a rifle at a person, which can also lead to shooters being disqualified or receiving penalty points in competitions,” the club said. For this reason, they hold workshops on firearms safety for people over 18, to raise awareness among citizens that regardless of the type of weapon, it is important to be careful, because even one wrong step can cost someone an injury or, worse, their life.

Target is actively working to promote marksmanship as a sport and a way of life. They organize numerous events, educational programs, and demonstrations to raise awareness about shooting and its positive aspects.

Every year since they were founded, they have achieved significant successes.

“We try to be as good as possible and promote the activities of our club throughout Bosnia and Herzegovina,” said a Target represntative.

The club’s ambitious plans for its future include continuiing to develop marksmanship in Bosnia and Herzegovina and winning Olympic medals. Their passion, dedication, and impressive achievements guarantee that they will remain an important part of the competetive shooting scene.

“Since our founding, we have held various tournaments that are not part of the club. We have visited schools and other organizations to introduce them to shooting. We have gained friendships and business partnerships, which have contributed to the club and its acceptance within society and the local community,” explained Ramić.

She added that after the amateur tournaments, they increased the number of club members, and in the future they want to promote this sport in other local communities.

The Target Shooting Club’s story of precision, passion, and extraordinary achievement shows that hard work and dedication can lead to exceptional results.

An unstable and internally broken Europe, with border integrity under constant threat by a belligerent Russia, would prove detrimental to United States foreign policy, and would likely set back the progress made by all U.S. presidents since Ronald Reagan.
