Peace Festival ‘23 ended with a musical performance by DJ Kontra, reinforcing the message of this year’s Festival participants’ commitment to building sustainable peace and coexistence in Bosnia and Herzegovina.
More than 40 young people from 20 cities of Bosnia and Herzegovina attended the opening of the second edition of the Peace Festival in the Čardaci Ethno Village in Vitez, organized by the Post-Conflict Research Center (PCRC).
On January 9th of this year, a book launch was held in Sarajevo for Intercepted Conversations: Preparations for War, by Hikmet Karčić, Emir Suljagić, and Sead Turčalo. The book contains the written transcripts of a series of intercepted telephone conversations which took place between May 1991 and March 1992 among members of the Serbian political and intellectual elite. These conversations were recorded by the State Security Service of Bosnia and Herzegovina, which was monitoring the preparations for the war in Bosnia and Herzegovina.
The Post-Conflict Research Center (PCRC) and Balkan Diskurs invite young people from Bosnia and Herzegovina to participate in the second edition of Peace Festival in Vitez from February 23 to 26, 2023.
A simple Google search with the terms 'looking for a job' or 'job opportunities' in the Bosnian language gives you a good feel of the current situation in the country. What comes up most of the time are tabs for jobs in Germany, opportunities abroad, or statistics on unemployment, especially for youth and women. With this gloomy picture in mind, we will focus on laying out the biggest challenges to reaching full employment in the country and potential ways forward.
