Ezra is entering his final year pursuing a double major in Political Science and Music with a minor in Music Entrepreneurship at McGill University. He’s previously held leadership positions in organizations that work with youth, such as university mentorship programs, and looks forward to utilizing his university studies in conjunction with youth education and intergenerational trauma. Furthermore, his studies in international law have brought him to Sarajevo with the goal of deepening his education surrounding the Bosnian war, hoping to better understand the culture of Bosnia and Herzegovina. He aims to complete a master’s program in International Relations following his graduation with aspirations of working in the fields of diplomacy and peace-building.

Music as a Tool for Peacebuilding
Music is not a magical tool that can be used in isolation to ensure the construction of lasting peace and reconciliation. However, if utilized correctly as a medium, it can provide an excellent means of facilitating dialogue that enables conflict to be discussed in an artistic setting.

Keraterm and Trnopolje: Two Camps that Defined the War in Bosnia and Herzegovina
During the War in BiH, places of everyday life suddenly turned into epicenters of the most horrendous crimes imaginable. Schools and factories were transformed into campsites that were used to detain the civilian population and inflict collective trauma. The infamous camps in the Keraterm tile factory and the local school in Trnopolje offer insightful examples for analyzing the Bosnian Serb camp system during the war.
