Astral Nexus: A Card Game Created in Bosnia and Herzegovina

Astral Nexus is a card game created in Bosnia and Herzegovina with the aim of bringing something new and innovative to the world of board games.

The game also seeks to show that the country can produce complex and interesting games that rival global bestsellers, while maintaining traditional tactility and authenticity.

“The game combines strategic planning, tactical choice, and unique mechanics that provide depth and interaction,” said Kemal Bašić, a software engineer from Zenica and the creator of the game.

Astral Nexus is set in a world of magic, where mystical beings, heroes, and opponents fight for balance with and dominance over the forces of nature. This strategic game, according to Bašić, combines tactical planning, quick decision-making, and innovative mechanics that provide players with a deep and dynamic experience.

As a physical card game, Astral Nexus stands out from other modern games that rely on digital platforms. The game’s creator says he wanted players to feel the authenticity and tactility of traditional card games as wells as to have the opportunity to get together and socialize.

“The process started with the idea phase – we developed the concept and the story. Then, we moved on to the design of the mechanics and rules, followed by extensive game testing to discover possible imbalances and ambiguities. After the final touches, the game was ready to be placed on the market,” said Bašić, describing the board game’s development.

The idea to create Astral Nexus arose from the need for originality on the game market in Bosnia and Herzegovina. “I wanted to create something that would show that there is talent for innovative and complex games in our country, and to encourage the development of the IT sector and the creativity of the local community,” said Bašić.

He explained that Astral Nexus is an exciting game. The rules are complex, but with detailed study and time, they become intuitive.

“In the beginning it can be a challenge, but after a few games, players will get used to strategies and interactions between different types of cards,” Bašić added.

The name of the board game is based on the concepts of the astral, as something beyond this world, and nexus, the connection between it all. “It’s all connected with the games I played as a child,” Bašić explained.

The Astral Nexus card game is expected to hit the market in May of this year, with great anticipation surrounding its reception. Bašić says that only one thing is certain and that is that Bosnia and Herzegovina has its first original card game. He hopes that it will be enjoyed by fans of this board game genre.
