Soleil graduated from the University of Edinburgh where she received a Master of Arts with Honours in International Relations and Law. She is French/Australian and speaks both French and English. She is also currently improving her understanding of Arabic. Having lived and studied in a range of multi-cultural environments, she has developed a strong passion for international affairs notably in the field of International Human Rights Law and International Criminal Law. In particular, she maintains a keen interest in the prevention of genocide, crimes against humanity and issues relating to the protection of refugees and Internally Displaced Persons (IDPs). She has a background in finance, and has previously worked for NGOs in the United Kingdom on peace and conflict matters. She has experience in political journalism, and developed interests in health and humanitarian affairs after becoming involved with the Journal of Global Health and Friends of Médecins Sans Frontières in 2016.
