Simeon is pursuing a Master’s degree in Peace Research and International Relations (MAPIR) at the University of Tübingen. His research interests are diverse, ranging from peace building and reconciliation in the Western Balkans to forced migration, Middle Eastern politics and societies, and sports and international relations. His interest in the Western Balkans and his belief that working on the ground can provide a better understanding of local communities, everyday politics and post-conflict realities led him to seek an internship at the Post-Conflict Research Centre. Simeon is happy to have the opportunity to contribute to the PCRC’s work while learning from its experience of promoting peace, dialogue and human rights in Bosnia and Herzegovina, and the wider region.
EMMAUS – International Forum of Solidarity Srebrenica, an example of good practice in the development of the local population
As part of the program for PCRC’s 7th annual Srebrenica Youth School, participants met with Alema Hodžić and Sabahudin Mujkić, who work for the Srebrenica regional office of the International Forum of Solidarity - EMMAUS (MFS - EMMAUS), one of the most prominent humanitarian organizations in Bosnia and Herzegovina (BiH).
