Bas holds a BA in History from the University of Groningen (RUG) and pursues an MA in IR, following a specialisation track in Geopolitics and Connectivity (RUG). Bas’s past research and studies focused among others on the Western Balkans and its history and historical context, and its (geopolitical) dynamics, culminating in practical experience during two excursions to the Western Balkans with the RUG, interacting with local NGO’s, embassies, and government officials. He wishes to continue working in research and policy advice through the interdisciplinary scope of History, IR, and Geopolitics.
