Elaine is pursuing a Bachelor of Arts degree in History and minors in Humanistic Studies as well as European Studies at Princeton University, where she is an editor of the legal journal and the co-organizer of an oral history project about religious migrants. Her research interest lies in the role of religions in post-conflict societies, which drew her to Bosnia and Herzegovina. After her undergraduate studies, she plans to attend law school and work in international human rights law in the future.

Not one sniper who participated in the Siege of Sarajevo has ever been prosecuted. Three decades later, four European governments, including Bosnia and Herzegovina, are investigating an allegation that some of the snipers were not even soldiers, but foreign nationals who paid to take part in the so-called “Sarajevo Safari.”
