Media Literacy of Youth and Resistance to Media Manipulation

The Post-Conflict Research Center is proud to present this video that aims to raise awareness about the lack of media integrity and transparency in Bosnia and Herzegovina.

This video was developed during the youth workshop “Media Literacy and Resisting Manipulation”, which was attended by 15 young people from across the country. Balkan Diskurs activities are supported by the Center for Independent Journalism Budapest (CIJ) under the European Union Instrument for Pre-Accession Assistance (IPA) and Rising Voices.

Training and Mentorship for Balkan Diskurs Youth Correspondents

Fifteen young journalists and activists attended training on the basics of journalism, photography, and storytelling. They were officially certified as youth correspondents on the tenth anniversary of the establishment of the Balkan Diskurs multimedia platform. With mentorship, they will have the opportunity to publish articles on socially significant topics that interest them through the Balkan Diskurs platform.

Decency in Times of Evil

Maksim Marjanović, a retired teacher from the village of Skelani, risked his life to help his colleague Jakub Abdurahmanović and Jakub’s family. Jakub was murdered during the war in Bosnia-Herzegovina and, 20 years later, Maksim reunites with Jakub’s wife Šehida for the first time. Their emotional meeting accompanied by the memory of Jakub tell the story of the war in Bosnia and Herzegovina.
